Step 1 in self-improving

Who would have thought swimming takes it out of you? There I was, just me and the large body of water (swimming pool) gazing at one another. It challenged me. I took up the challenge. The first 4 laps were great. And I was beat. I thought “how in the world will I be able to build up stamina if I die half-way?”. But then I realized, the key is to relax between laps, nobody is chasing me around with a chainsaw, after all this is not a horror movie and I don’t think serial killers can swim (at least none that I have seen…hmmm…cool idea for a new horror movie – the blade in the swimming pool).

I learned how to improve my technique so I’m ready to get back there. It was really a good workout, set all my muscles in motion, but boy will I feel it in the morning! Then again, if I keep this up, I’m on the right way to that “new and improved me”. One thing that is ironic though – each time I finish my swimming routines and exit the building, I’m thirsty like you wouldn’t believe. One would think that spending so much time in water would prevent that, but nooooooo. Oh well!

Step 1 is done. Many more to come!

I’m a gym addicted! (mostly during the summer) at least one hour per day! the first 3 days are awful, but as soon as your muscles are trained, you just can’t get enough! keep up the good work!
