I love vanilla (not Milli Vanilli, even though they had a couple of good songs back in the day). No, I’m talking about the flavor – it’s sweet, but not wild.

Doing a little research I found multiple uses for vanilla:
1. ICE CREAM – while some people would consider it “plain” I LOVE vanilla ice cream; I recently found out that vanilla flavoring is used to enhance the flavor of other substances, like chocolate and caramel (HA, vanilla rules )
2. in the perfume industry – now here’s a territory where I don’t really appreciate vanilla – the sweet smell gives me headaches
3. medicine – it is used sometimes as an antibacterial agent, and an anti-fever agent
4. aromatherapy – scented oils and candles.

So there you have it folks, vanilla, far from being plain. Gotta love it, I know I do!
