This year there will be changes. I can feel it. Some changes will be necessary. And I will take the steps in the right direction to make them. I will stand up for myself. I will express my opinions. And if people don’t like, it’s their problem, not mine. I will make decisions and live with the consequences. I will be stronger. I will let go of things/people that stand between me and my goals. I know it sounds harsh, but I can’t afford to stray from my path. I have amazing parents, great friends and I know I can do this. And I will, just wait and see.

The year that passed was marked with both positive and negative experiences.

Negative: attracted the wrath of some people but in the end I just decided to let them be, hopefully to be left alone; then there was the mini-meltdown I had in September regarding work abroad, and the occasional post surgery and lower back pain.

Positive: spent a great month in Hungary, seen the concerts of some of my favorite artists: Sandra, Glee and Wicked, Britney, spent a really cool time in Italy, started a new term teaching, bought a car, passed my specialty exam.

All in all I have to say that it was a pretty active year. Met people who tried to vent their frustration and lack of common sense in the most peculiar ways, people who lent a helping hand, people who were too self absorbed to even notice I’m there, people who gave me their undivided attention. Made new friends and estranged old ones.

Do I have regrets? Maybe, but they are in the past. I try to focus on my future while living in the present. But these events changed me. Gave me a little self confidence. And as long as I feel that truth is on my side, I will fight. I will try to make others happy without losing sight of me. I will not sacrifice myself for the needs/demands of others.

Life is worth living, it’s a crazy and beautiful chain of events, and I want to be a part of IT!
